Vintage 1979 JAPANESE SATSUMA 12" PORCELAIN VASE with CRACKLE GLAZE, IVORY with GOLD TONES and HAND PAINTED PEACOCKS AND FLOWERS!This vase is Previously Owned, in Vintage Condition, no chips, no cracks, with minor wear on the top rim, and minor markings on the bottom from being displayed.This listing is for a beautiful Made In Japan Satsuma 12" porcelain Vase in the crackle glaze style, with an Ivory color that has Gold Tone accents, and has hand painted peacocks and flowers. This vintage vase is 12" tall, with the top opening being 4" across, the bottom is 3" across, and the middle is 5" across.Satsuma ware(薩摩焼Satsuma-yaki)is a type of Japanese potteryoriginally from Satsuma Province,southern Kyushu.Today, it can be divided into two distinct categories: the original plain dark clay early Satsuma(古薩摩Ko-Satsuma)made in Satsuma from around 1600, and the elaborately decorated export Satsuma(京薩摩Kyō-Satsuma)ivory-bodied pieces which began to be produced in the nineteenth century in various Japanese cities.
