Vintage Cantagalli Faience Search Description We are pleased to offer this vintage Italian faience urn, fresh from a Maine estate auction. Marked with the famous Cantagalli cockerel and the number 17, this piece features two lion heads painted in blue. Standing 5 3/4" (14.5 cm) tall, the urn has a top diameter of 3 3/4" (9.5 cm). This handsome vase is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, repairs or staining. One of the lions has some flaking of the glaze on the tip of its nose. There is also a tiny spot of exposed clay on the inner floor which may be a flake of the glaze layer as well. This urn has a small amount of crazing in the glaze, typical of faience pottery. We are offering this item for auction with a low starting price and no reserve.
