A stunning vintage English chintz teapot in the popular "Lorna Doone" pattern, featuring birds and roses and a lace-like pattern dotted in the background. This example was made by Gibsons. The pot has the words GIBSONS ENGLAND impressed into the bottom, along with the letter J with something like an arrow coming out of the top of the J in raised relief ---- very hard to photograph. The teapot is in beautiful condition and appears almost un-used --- no damage, repairs, odors or stains of any nature. Very small amount of wear to the gold on the handle. It measures around 5 inches tall to the top of the lid finial and 8 1/2 inches from spout to handle. A nice sturdy pottery teapot in a very appealing pattern!
