Very nice vintage (1957) oak engineer's toolchest, possibly of military origin Height 20" x width 24" x depth 7" Removable solid oak front with diamond shaped detail, brass lock (working, key included). Two sets of four graduated drawers above four full width drawers, with two pigeonholes at the right. At the back of the upper pigeonhole is a stamp (pictured) reading 'MAY 1957 21B/547', under this a partial crown and 'AM'. Drawer knobs probably Bakelite. Top two small drawers baize-lined. Solid oak cabinet, drawer fronts and sides; ply drawer bottoms. Has marks and knocks commensurate with age and has clearly been used; some oil stains to top and on the bottoms of several drawers. All drawers move well. A very attractive, unusual and useful cabinet. Heavy object, so collection (or your own arranged courier) only, please. Any questions, please ask! The 'AM' stamped on the chest stands for Air Ministry, the organisation which managed the affairs of the Royal Air Force, that existed from 1918 to 1964
