Up for sale is this set of FIVE Bread and Butter Plates from Syracuse China in their lovely Dogwood pattern on the Winthrop (scalloped edge) blank. Each one measures about 6-3/8" in diameter . Condition is very good as there are no chips, cracks or crazing. There are some very light utensil marks on all of them. One has a small glaze crack on the front (see last photo). There are 3 different backstamps in this lot: Three are "4 KK" indicating a manufacture date of April 1956 One is "3 KK" indicating a manufacture date of March 1956 One is "8 JJ" indicating a manufacture date of August 1955 - the colors on this plate seem to be a slightly lighter shade of green than the 4 other plates made in 1956 - see 4th photo for a comparison... These restaurant grade pieces are in the pattern that was once used by the Roanoke Hotel, which was owned by the Norfolk & Western Railroad.I will be listing over 100 pieces of Dogwood Syracuse China restaurant grade including: vegetable bowl, platter, chop plates, dinner plates, lunch/salad/dessert plates, bread & butter plates, cereal/soup/salad bowls, fruit bowls, dessert bowls, coffee mugs, tea cups w/saucers, creamer/sugar sets, gravy pitcher.
