Vintage Chinese red carved lacquer water pot. We took a poll around the shop and everyone thinks its a small water pot used when doing Chinese calligraphy, so that my story and I'm sticking to it. This cute little pot has four different scenes carved in the panels, and a little box design with a tiny swastika carved in the center between panels. It is 3 inches across the bottom by 2 inches high, the opening is 1 3/8 inches in diameter. There is a small flaw in the rim. it is very smooth, and looks more like a flaw in manufacturing than a chip. Found this in a box in the warehouse with a lot of other carved lacquer pieces. It was imported from China in the late 50's or early 60's.
