This is a Hard-To-Find, VINTAGE, Like-NEW, MINT Condition, Hand-Crafted " Carved Wood Floral Motif Flowers Design Wooden Jewelry Storage Stash Treasure Trinket Box Chest " handmade in Peru in the mid-1950s . Purchased during a trip to Peru in 1955 , it has displayed for 55 years but has not been used for any type of storage. It is in MINT Condition with NO rips, tears, marks, stains, odors, chips, cracks or other damage; it comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. Standing approximately 5 1/2 inches tall, it measures approximately 6 1/4 inches wide and approximately 4 1/2 inches deep; it is NOT Marked or Signed. This hand-carved wood Jewelry Chest was entirely handmade in Peru by Peruvian wood artisan who was a master of his trade. The Floral Motif is intricately detailed and set off to perfection by the zig-zag border. Made from natural Peru wood, it is BEAUTIFULLY hand-carved with EXQUISITE detailing. The domed lid has a brass hook latch and lifts open to reveal a storage compartment below; the entire inside is lined with black velveteen velvet - sides, bottom and top. Below is a storage drawer with a brass ring pull; the interior is also lined in black velveteen velvet - sides and bottom.
