VINTAGE BURLEIGH "ASIATIC PHEASANTS" JAM / JELLY JAR W/ LID (1930 BOTTOM MARK). JAR MEASURES 3 1/4" IN HEIGHT, EXCLUDING LID. EXCELLENT CONDITION SHOWING NO EVIDENCE OF PREVIOUS USE OR CRAZING. THE "ASIATIC PHEASANTS" PATTERN WAS INTRODUCED IN STAFFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND IN 1827. A LOVELY ROMANTIC PATTERN, A VERY SOFT PALE BLUE AND WHITE."Asiatic Pheasants has been made by our company since 1862, the year we first started operating as a company. So this pattern really has been around since the very beginning. As was the practice in those days, such patterns were made by many factories in Staffordshire. Asiatic Pheasants was the second most popular pattern of the late 1800's, so over 60 factories actually made the very same pattern. It is widely believed that the fist manufacturer of Asiatic Pheasants was Podmore, Walker & Co in the 1830's.
