This auction is for the cute little vintage elephant pin that is shown. The pin is old, probably from the '30s or 40s, and it is 2 inches tall and 2 and 3/4 inches long--from the tip of the elephant's trunk to the tip of his tale. I'm not an expert in early plastics, etc. but I don't think this pin is bakelite--seems a little light and thin, but it is cool nonetheless. The detail on the ear and on the tusk is painted but the little eye is raised--looks like a little eyeball on top of a raised section of the plastic. What makes this little fellow so nifty is his legs. They are curved and slide/move from side to side with any movement. His feet are rounded so he can't stand alone, but the way the legs are made is a neat detail. The pin on the back has a little curve in it, but it fastens tightly. Please email me with any questions you may have and thanks for looking at my auction. Pin will be sent priority mail in the small box.
