This is a very cool vintage Mid Century Westclox Big Ben alarm clock. I believe these clocks were produced from 1949- 1956. Marked 2A 48h on the bottom. The design is clean and classic. American made with metal casing-heavy in weight. The bottom rim of the clock face says 'Made by Westclox La Salle U.S.A.'This clock is in great vintage condition! I am not an expert by any stretch but I tested the clock. It seems to be in working order. There is a nice comforting sound with the ticking of this clock. The glass crystal is shiny and in great condition.See all the photos- a few minor scuffs on the left side of case. There is a knob on the back that is missing which winds up the alarm. As such, the alarm won't work properly. From the scratches around the missing knob, I am guessing the previous owner might have used pliers to wind the alarm buttonClock measures approx 5 ½" tall.Update: A nice eBay customer sent me the following information about the missing knob on the back:'The thing that is missing is the key that winds up the alarm. The alarm may have worked when you tested it briefly, but once the spring has relaxed. It will not sound again until it is wound up. The key would look just like the one that winds up the time.'
