This is a rare, all-wool afghan war rug in colours and motifs inspired by Turkoman textiles. The vibrant red background beautifully sets off shades of golden brown, dark blue, and aubergine. Warp and weft are wool, pile is soft, the knotting is rather chunky, giving the alternating lines of copters and APCs a pixilated appearance. Any irregularities (odd bits of white yarn etc) are characteristic of tribal rugs. The braided selvedge is intact, and condition is generally good, although there are rows in which the pile was trimmed more closely than overall. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
