McKee Glass Co., Jeannette, Pa. came out with this birdhouse in 1951 and discontinued it soon thereafter, when it was discovered that the heat build up in the birdhouse wasn't tolerated by birds. This example, in white milk glass with painted red top, has "Mfg. By McK . G . Co. Pat. Applied For" around the side at bottom(see photo 3). on this unusual McKee birdhouse.
