Vintage 1930's Velvet Pipe & Cigarette Tobacco Canister This Vintage 1930's Velvet Pipe & Cigarette Tobacco Canister has been in my late husband's tobacciana collection for over 40 years. He always collected different types of tobacco tines and humidors. This Velvet tobacco canister is in very nice condition for its age. It was manufactured by Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co. It measures 6 inches height by 5 inches wide.It has the classic branding, "Made from the finest Kentucky Burley Leaf Tobacco ripened in Nature's Sunshine and Cured in Nature's Way." Another caption on the can lists, "Aged in Wood, an old-time process applied to tobacco which takes out all rawness and all harshness. Velvet is mild and mellow and smokes smooth." This is a great collector piece for the wonderful advertising on this vintage item.
