A CHARMING VILLEROY & BOCH VILBO CARD OF THE ROSE CHILD. A YOUNG FAIRY IS FIXING HER NEW ROSE. DESIGNED BY C. M. BARKER. MEASURES 5-7/8" X 4-3/16". MADE IN WEST GERMANY. BACKING IS CLEAN AND WITHOUT WRITING. THE TAB FOR HANGING IS CREASED. THE FRONT DISPLAYS VERY WELL WITH MINOR WEAR FROM AGE.VILBO CARDS ORIGINALLY WOULD HAVE COME PACKAGED IN A PROTECTIVE STYROFOAM INSERT AND MAILING SLEEVE. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN POSTED IN THE MAIL. VILLEROY AND BOCH INVITED NUMEROUS ARTISTS AND ILLUSTRATORS TO DESIGN THE CARDS, MANY DOING MULTIPLES IN A SERIES. MANY COMPANIES USED THE VILBO CARDS FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES SUCH AS CHRISTMAS CARDS MAILED TO CLIENTS.
