Victorian Era Antique 5 Hat Pins & French Lace Pin Cushion A very nice set of 5 hat pins with a Victorian era pin cushion. This was passed down in the family by the original owner: Edna Horn Maxey a long resident of Caldwell, Idaho. In December of 1900, Ms. Edna Horn, the daughter of Caldwell Postmaster Jacob Horn, wed Dr. Maxey. This collection of hat pins were found with her Victorian era clothing from 1880-1910. The 4 longest hat pins were found within the cushion. The shortest 2 ¼” long, “tiger eye” was in a jewelry box belonging to the 99 year-old aunt & was added to the collection. All 5 hat pins are in very good used condition with no notable blemishes. The pin cushion I suspect is filled with kapok; typical of the era. It does show wear with holes noted in the French lace top & light discoloration in blue lining. (I believe Edna brought this home from Paris about 1908) It measures 9 inches long X 3 inches wide X 3 inches tall. An additional 6 inches of lace (3” on each end) make for a total of 15” long x 9 inches wide with the lace. For being 100 years old, all items are considered to be in very good condition with no damage. A copy of Edna on her wedding day is included,,,,she was quite lovely.
