We are offering a lovely Victorian engraved gold filled heart locket manufactured by Plainville Stock Co. (PSCO) on a sterling silver chain. The heart is white gold filled with rose gold filled highlights and center back panel. The locket has a finely engraved border on the front and back covers. The back, inside the border is plain and rose gold in color. The front is engraved in the center with the outline of a heart that is white gold in color. This small center heart is surrounded by engraved flowers and leaves. The leaves and inside heart edge are accented with the rose gold color. The locket "hanger" is very ornate.The locket measures approximately 3/4" wide by 1 1/16" in long, including the ornate hanger/bale but not the ring. The sterling silver chain measures approximately 18 1/2" in length.The locket is in good previously loved vintage condition with no dents or dings but there is light surface wear, like scrapes and scratches, to outside front and back. There are scrapes, through the gold fill, all along the outside edges of front and back covers. We were unable to get representative pictures of this wear but under magnification we could detect the wear.The locket has both frames and plastic for pictures.It is marked "1-20" over "10K" over "G.F." over "PSCO" on a heart shaped raised plaque on the inside of the back cover. read more
