Was it used for Valentine Chocolate? This auction is for a 1800's Victorian Chocolate Basket made by James W. Tufts - Boston Quadruple Plate #4702 I tried really hard to get the pictures of all of the figures but the handle and ripples really got in the way. This is a truly adorable piece full of little figures - Including an Indian and Police Man Has many sayings like Sweetest Kisses for My Little Misses Two with but a single thought Forget Me Not Pure Chocolate Warranted Strictly Pure Chocolate I tried to polish it in a few spots but gave up cause it wasn't getting any lighter - I think that the silver plate is worn off in spots showing the darker base metal, and I'm unsure what that is. The handle does show brass underneath on one side w it is worn off. Some little dings on the side ripples of the basket edge. The form minus the silver is in excellent condition Approx measurements are 6" across 5" high Pleasenote that I will be out of town June 23-27. One & a ½ weeks after this auction closes.
