Welcome to my auction for a 1/12th scale dolls house pub THE GLOBE AND LAUREL This pub was made to order for someone who was doing a photo shoot for an American dolls house magazine featuring the stereo-typical'Quaint English country pubs and cottages'It is constructed from sturdy 9mm MDF and is over 2 floors.Dimensions are: Base 48" x 20" and the pub itself 47"(L) x 14" (D) x 22" (H) (Pretty large in comparison to others!)The setting for the Globe and Laurel is somewhere in Devon (Probably near Plymouth) after about 1800, when the Royal Navy press-gangs were still in operation and Nelson was yet to achieve infinite fame with his Victory at Trafalgar.It features 2 large bay windows to the front ground floor and 1 large 12 pane window to the side ground floor.Upstairs in the living accommodation there are 2 dormers and a medium 9 pane window, all in white.The exterior, in keeping with the setting, is painted in smooth 'Devon Cream' masonry paint. It has authentic looking flagstone paving effect in 'random' style which has been finished with real grout to good effect.The roof has been laid using over 1000 individual dark grey slate effect tiles, again, to good effect.The signage seen in the photos is included: 2 Long wall mounted signs and 1 traditional hanging.The interior has been left as just one large room on each floor painted out in the same paint as the exterior (Only the exterior was required for photographing) and is, in effect, a 'blank canvas' for its new owner to add their own style using the massive range of dolls house pub accessories available now on ebay and could easily be wired for lighting.With the addition of a few window boxes and a couple of hanging baskets this pub would look superb!The pub is named after the badge of the gallant men of the Royal Marines, who have a great history in and around Devon and fits the setting perfectly.The licensee details on the sign state the name 'Billy Bootneck' (Bootneck is a nickname for the Royal Marines).Of course, the buyer can choose any era when furnishing this pub, as it is a timeless piece that could just as easily be a modern day country 'Gastro-Pub'As stated, the pub was made to order and is a totally unique piece never to be seen again. With a little imagination you could have the best boozer in town!Due to the fact that it was built for photography purposes, this IS NOT a front opening dolls house. Access is through a lift off roof panel and lift out 1st floor.The bay windows are not currently fixed so, once decorated, I would leave it that way and arrange accessories through these openings rather than have the hassle of lifting out the 1st floor!I must stress that this dolls house, although unique and a total "one-off" is NOT professionally built. The builder normally specialises in model village and garden railway buildings.If you are interested in having a scale model made that is not available in kit form, or you have had an idea for a while of what you would really like, or even of your own house or any other building then please e-mail for details.
