.5" to 6.5". Includes five items featuring Townsend's portrait. Several items include the initials OAP or OARP, which stand for "Old Age Revolving Pension". The Townsend Plan laid the foundation for what we know today as Social Security, and in 1935 there were about 5000 Townsend clubs across the country. Francis Townsend was a physician from California who devised the "Townsend Plan" in 1933, which quickly grew in popularity in the midst of the Great Depression. The yellow pin in bottom left corner has some scattered age spotting and is VF. Ribbon badge on right has some slight fading on ribbon and diagonal crease in center. VF. All other items have only light to moderate wear and are extremely Fine to NM, w/most being Exc.
