A GREAT playing Chinese horn...YES it is true!This trumpet has a NEW Satin Blast finish with clear lacquer!!!This is a nice trumpet and a good quality instrument by one of the larger Trumpet makers in China. Made by the same company that builds for a MAJOR name this is a JY2000 model trumpet. The serial number is 0324677, which should date the horn to about 2011. The body and the slides have a beautiful NEW Satin Blast finish with clear lacquer. The caps and screw are bright nickel plate. Finally, the bell interior was done Brushed with clear lacquer. It had worn lacquer when I got it but played wonderfully well. I did an ultrasonic cleaning and then stripped the old lacquer. The horn was shot to give it a Satin finish and then coated with clear lacquer to protect it. I assembled it and aligned the valves. I also lapped the valves to make them smooth and to maximize the air flow. I played it while doing the work and it is a very nice sounding intermediate level horn. I think that this horn has a PRO look with a reversed tuning slide and copper lead pipe. It plays very well (Melanie said I sound great on this horn, lol, as always) with a nice smooth sound.
