I am not a mask expert but this vintage old rubber mask looks just like the "Gorilla Monster" mask offered by iconic mail-order companies like Honor House and Johnson Smith in the backs of comic books back in the 1960s and 70s. This mask was also seen offered in the pages of Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine. I looked all over the mask and could not find a makers mark. My research told me that some versions of the Topstone masks over the years were not marked. My artist's eye compared this to other photos of the iconic gorilla on collector pages and the painting style ,coloring, and sculpt looks very much like a Keith Ward creation....very convincing to me...but YOU be the judge. I offer this as found. No attempt was made to clean or repair by me but it looks like someone tried to add some latex to the inside where the crack in the rubber rests. The hair was matted and coming off. I will include the hair that fell off in a separate baggie. Typically these rubber monster masks don't turn up often because of the delicate nature of the rubber and construction. This particular mask is incredibly supple and the only hardened area is right under the upper lip where there is a breach in the rubber.
