From the National Depression Glass Association: "With the closing of the Duncan and Miller factory on June 24, 1955, it would seem to be the end of an era of "The Loveliest Glassware in America" but another chapter unfolds as the molds were sold to the United States Glass Company, Tiffin, Ohio. The colors for the No. 115 line were listed as Greenbriar, Desert Red and Crystal."A docent at the Duncan & Miller Glass Museum of The National Duncan Glass Society in Washington, PA told us, "These are not Duncan & Miller. They would have been our molds (Canterbury pattern) bought by Tiffin Glass, Tiffin, OH when Duncan & Miller closed in 1955. Tiffin also bought out the factory equipment & hired 25 Duncan employees, who moved to Tiffin, to work in the Duncan-Tiffin division of Tiffin glass. The color is Desert Rose - a Tiffin color."Thank you to both these resources.Three mold construction. No damage seen or felt. No chips, no cracks, no distinct scratches; very faint, small, fine scratches can be found with bright photographic lights and magnification and effort, as with all vintage and antique glass. Candle wax residue inside here and there. Embedded original, occasional tiny bubbles. Almost no base wear.
