It is scheduled to be shipped to dealers Late November After World War II, GIs returning home wrote to Dodge and asked, "W can we get a truck like the ones we used in the war"? Dodge responded by building the Power Wagon. Virtually unchanged from its introduction in 1946 to when domestic sales ended in 1968, the Power Wagon is the exemplary four-wheel drive truck. The Power Wagon became a workhorse in post war United States. One popular variation included a "Service Station" towing package. This option included a heavy-duty towing arm and 4-wheel drive as well a winch attached to the front chassis for pulling broken down vehicles out of a tough spot and back to the mechanic's garage for repair. For this year's collector die-cast, we've replicated the popular Dodge Power Wagon--complete with towing package, winch and 1940s-style logo on the doors. The 1/25th-scale replica features a die-cast cab, bed and chassis, as well as opening doors and a butterfly-hinged hood with detailed engine compartment. Miniature metal chains wrap around the working winch mounted on the front of the chassis. The highly detailed interior features a separate floor-mounted stick shift, low-gear selector, and functional steering wheel. The truck bed holds the towing arm and cables with tow hook, and include a working tailgate with chains. With almost 1½ pounds of heavy die-cast metal used in its construction, this precision replica of the classic Dodge Power Wagon is sure to become a treasured addition to any collection of die-cast vehicles.
