This is an old "tape measure" table clock marked Made in USA on the bottom. It winds from the bottom and the speed adjustment is made from the bottom. You set the time just by turning the top.--- Yes you can tell time using one pointer, after all the early clocks and watches only had one hand. I just oiled this clock and it runs just fine. The case is in very good condition but the paint is showing its age. I could have repainted and detailed it but I will let it the way it is--original. The base of the clock measures 4 3/4" in diameter at its widest point. The 36 hour movement is a balance wheel/lever escapement type and really runs nicely with good movement. This is the early version of this model as it is made from sheet metal rather than aluminum. I am guessing that it dates to the 20's or 30's. The patent number on the back is D-95.184. This is a very nice unusual and running old clock for your collection. Don't miss out on this good example of an old Tape Measure Clock. You must be happy with this item as pictured and described.
