The first, by King and Fabok, is haunting and enigmatic in a way that is becoming King's trademark. In fact, I would say that King writes the kinds of stories that benefit from - actually DEMAND - multiple readings.The second story is even more special. It was illustrated by Jones from Wein's plot. It was intended to be the first issue of a new ongoing series starring Swamp Thing, spinning out of the miniseries they had done more than a year ago. Wein never had the chance to script it, so DC made the decision the publish the art - without any lettering - and then including Wein's plot. It's a measure of Jones' skill as a writer that you can actually get a pretty good sense of the story without any lettering, but the plot indicates how Wein was able to touch on rich points of story and character.In the back of this book are tributes that ran in DC comics last year to both Wrightson and Wein.
