If the ring wasn't so large I would keep this for myself. Stamped... "10K" (Yellow Gold), and also stamped... "Hand Wrought", c. 1920s or Earlier, It's kind of hard for me to date because many 10K Solid Gold Pieces that are also stamped Hand Wrought were from the Victorian period, but given the Fantastic Geometric Art Deco Look on this ring I tend to believe it is a bridge between the periods Victorian into Art Deco, so anyw from 1890s-1920s give or take. Depicting a Superb Carved Carnelian Roman or Greek Cameo with nice detail in a concave form having leaves on his hair and a Excellent side profile detailing all the intricate facial features. The most unique thing about the ring is how the Square Carnelian Stone is Set in the setting in a way that when you wear this, the points are up and down, or like a diamond shape, now how cool is that! I really like it. The ring is Quite large being a size 12 1/2 to a 13. Of course this can be resized up or down if you need it to be at any local jewelry. The face of the ring measures just shy of 1 inch north to south or 22mm. The stone dimensions are 22mm (points to points) by 16mm (flat side to flat side). The Carnelian is Deep Red Translucent with a Vivid Richness. On the inside of the ring the word "Wrought" has letters that are worn off in the front and the back, but we are quite certain that is what it says. Otherwise this whole ring is in Absolutely Excellent "Perfect or Mint" Vintage condition. No Dings to the gold settings, no deep scratches to the gold either, no chips or no cracks to the Carnelian. We do not see an abundance of Gents rings when we are out Antiquing to buy Jewelry, when we do see them we try and pick them up because not much Vintage Jewelry was made for Men. When we saw this one we couldn't pass it up, it's a eye catcher, and not your typical design. Very nice.
