Superb GEORGIAN Silver LARGE TODDY PUNCH LADLE Hallmark 1774 Sterling London NR Fully Hallmarked - LONDON: Sarey Price - SUPERB & RARE This is a lovely and rare GEORGIAN solid sterling silver LARGE punch or toddy ladle which was made in London, England in 1774 by the illustrious Georgian silversmith, Sarey Price at his Bunhill Row workshops. It is 17 7/8" long and the bowl measures 3 7/8" long by 2 1/8" wide and is 1 3/8" deep. It weighs 89.1 grams - well over 2 3/4 troy oz. It is a lightly hammered finish, a splayed and decorated edge and is engraved I over M*S. It has a beautiful turned ebonised wooden handle. It is in superb condition for its age with a little less than the usual light surface scratching, very few dings or dents, no pinholes, NO distortion and just the usual professional reinforcement where the bowl meets the stem - SUPERB. It is hallmarked SR, crowned leopard head, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), T showing that it was hallmarked in London in 1774. A really stunning ANTIQUE GEORGIAN toddy ladle in superb condition after almost 240 years at a very low start and NO reserve - so unusual to find a fully hallmarked ladle!!!
