BEAUTY'S AWAKENING, A Masque of Winter and Spring, The Studio Summer Number, 1899, Presented by The Members of The Art Workkers Guild, London, illustrated paper covers with advertising, 80 + pages. The little known but extraordinary volume is the record of the creation and performance of a Masque by members of the Art Workers Guild including such important artists as WALTER CRANE, C.R. ASHBEE, SELWYN IMAGE, JOSEPH PENNELL, C. HARRISON TOWNSEND, W.R. LETHABY, NELSON DAWSON and T.R. WAY. ASHBEE was the printer of the book and the presiding genius with the help of WALTER CRANE. The Masque was performed at THE GUILDHALL before The Lord Mayor and the Council on 29 June, 1899.
