Striking Vintage ATLANTIS Crystal POWDER JAR Silver Repouse Fruited Lid PORTUGALDescriptionVINTAGE ATLANTIS CRYSTAL POWDER JARBeautiful vintage Atlantis crystal lidded powder jar measuring about almost 4" tall and 3-3/4" wide. Glass base features a pressed stylized star or criss-cross band with elongated thumbprint designs, even the underside of the jar bears a fan cut decoration. Complete with original molded repouse lid covered with deeply embossed fruits including pears, grapes and a strawberry, jar side is marked simply PORTUGAL and lid tests as silverplate.Condition is excellent - I find no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, discoloration or damage to the glass - lid seats neatly over the jar for an almost airtight fit -- silverplate is without plating loss, dents, discoloration or any other issues - it needs a good polish. I believe this was designed as a powder jar -- it dates to the late 1970s or 1980s in era - it could certainly be used to hold trinkets, special jewelry or similar vanity items. Just a lovely jar and pattern - crystal is clear and catches the light beautifully and the lid is so over-the-top gorgeous.
