Strange Tales #111 from Aug. 1963This key issue of Strange Tales is the very first appearance of the long running Doctor Strange adversary, Baron Mordo, who is a major Marvel "villain" character in the popular Dr. Strange storyline (and it is only the second appearance of Dr. Strange as well!) Plus, (if that wasn't enough. lol) it also contains the very first appearance (and the Origin) of the Asbestos Man, who is another one of the Marvel villains, especially known as one who is among the villains on the Human Torch's list of flame resistant adversaries, because of his asbestos outfit being a fire retardant type of protectant, he is obviously especially well-suited for battle against the flaming hero. Interest has been on the rise for all of the early Dr. Strange key issues since shortly before the November 2016 release of the Dr Strange big screen adaptation, starring actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who most fans agreed was well cast, due to his excellent portrayal of the Dr. Strange character onscreen. Copies of these earlier (and older) Strange Tales comics have always been a bit tougher to find in decent shape, and with the added collector (and speculator) demand due to the movie, there are definitely not enough attractive copies of these to go around.
