Two English Staffordshire Pearlware Red and Green Transferware Plates circa 1826- 1835~ Canova Pattern ~ Thomas Mayer Stoke Upon Trent ~Each 8 " in diameterThe first Canova patterns were marked with the Stoke on Trent marks and after 1835, marked Longport, these both have the early Stoke marked on back. These are both very well printed as well with very fine stippling you can see in the close up pics. Both also have very nice glossy glaze.~Both in excellent condition; the red plate has a shallow chip on the back edge which doesn't show on front; it has a pock mark on the face near the center with some toning around it, this is only visible on close inspection.
