Greasy military preservative wrapping. Packed in 1944.These are new, old stock Remington stamped buttplates for the 1903 and 1903A3 rifle that have been pulled from the original sealed box.They were made during WWII and have never been installed on a rifle, or unwrapped.I included a pic of the packing slip where Remington packed them "June 1 1944". A few days after these were packed ,the workers would be listening to the DDay landing news on the radio.TheseRemington 03A3 buttplatesare covered in thick, goey grease. I cleaned off the butt plate pictured so you could see what they look like. You will receive one in the green greasy wrap shown.They have the original blued finish and have an "R" stamped on the back side.These 03A3 Remington buttplates are in Mint condition. Dont settle for dented, pitted or refinished parts for your 1903A3. This is a chance to get exactly what was used in WWII.*** The best way I have found to remove the grease is low heat.
