This is a handsome hybrid Smiths mantle clock. The case is frome a Smiths Electric clock, the electrical movement has been removed and replaced with a standard Smiths clockwork mantle clock movement. It is working well and the case as can be seen is in excellent condition. The glass has to be removed to wind the clock as when it was electric there was no need for a hinged front. There is a small screw which fixes the glass on and it is removed easily by slackening the screw and twisting the glass. The clock is 15" x 6" x 8.75". A very unusual and striking mantle clock. (Forgive the pun ) This is a no reserve auction with a low start price. Collection is preferred as postage costs are high, but will post if required. .
