This pictorial booklet commemorates the Fiftieth Anniversary of the founding, by Moses Sheppard in 1891, of the 400 acre treatment and rehabilitation facility for the mentally ill in Towson, MD. Zelda Fitzgerald, wife of author F. Scott, spent some time there in its early years. Pictures focus on the restorative powers of rest, beautiful bucolic surroundings and quiet activity offered up by the facility. Patients typically checked in for periods much longer than the current 30 days allowed by health insurance policies. Sheppard Pratt remains a world class mental health facility today. Booklet has 20 pages and measures 7.5” x 10.5”. Obviously, this is NOT a postcard, but listing it as such may improve its chances of being viewed.
