. Here is a Very Scarce & Beautiful Near Mint Condition Norfolk & Western Bullion Cup & Saucer Set In The Stunning - Y ellowbird Pattern of which was exclusive to the railroad in this version of which was made by Shenango China in the 1940's and 50's era. This set would have been used in Norfolk & Western dining car service and may be seen pictured in various N&W publications including some company materials (s) being used along with the railroad's sparkling glass & silver with shining linens . This set is in nice condition having no chips, cracks or repai rs. The saucer is near mint (hint of use) and so is the bullion cup ( hint of use) of which fits the saucer perfectly. The saucer is in the rarer Rim Rol style and has a glaze clay imperfection on the b ottom rim that was fired that way at the factory of which seems to accompany many Shenango pieces for some reason. Non detracting or distracting in my opinion and not visible at all when pieces are used or displayed . The set is beautiful and one of the nicest I have seen lately. The cup measures 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 and the saucer measures 6'' across. Please also view the nice N& W Centennial service plate & Gravy I have also listed.
