Very rare Shafer & Douglas (1869-1922) Intaglio Ring (Soldiers Ring) Gold ring with onyx stone. It is a Size 8 Men's or Women's The soldier is typical Roman, but with a winged helmet. There are scuffs/light scratching on the stone, as is typical with it's age. There is light wear on the ring. It Weighs 3 grams. Marking inside the ring is a Fist with 2 crossed arrows (Shafer & Douglas) mark, but no gold purity mark. Presumed to be 10k in the interest of good wear, but we are not jewelers, and do not know this for sure. Shafer & Douglas made rings set in 10k and 14k both.This is an exquisite find and was in a estate sale that also had several Otsby Barton rings included in it.
