11x17" DC Comics artboard features pen and ink w/screentone accents original art for page 15 of Shade, The Changing Man Vol. 2 #30, published by DC Comics Dec. 1992 (three issues before the debut of DC's Vertigo imprint). Art is by Duncan Eagleson, a self-trained painter and former graffiti artist whose career has included designing book covers as well as creating movie posters and comic book art such as that offered here. Eagleson did a single issue each of Vertigo's flagship titles - Shade, The Changing Man and Sandman. Inked by Mark Buckingham. Art features five panels, showing Shade (wearing M-Vest) looking upon a copy of himself (sans M-Vest) while talking w/Pool, Guardian of the Pool Table Doorway. The dimension around them is populated by floating billiard balls. Shade appears in all but one panel; two panels show both versions of Shade. Top margin has inked title as well as issue/page numbers. Captions have been hand-lettered. Back has DC Comics copyright inkstamp. Art remains clean and Exc.
