DE TUILERIES SAUCE BOAT, CHERUBS, 1844 Description Sauce Boat , 1844 S�vres Manufactory (French, 1740-present) Hard-paste porcelain; Diam. 10 1/2 inches x 4 x 7" high Louis-Philippe was a great patron of the S�vres factory, and among his many orders were commissions for dinner services for each of his official residences. This elegant and large sauce boat comes from a dinner service ordered for the ch�teau at Tuileries. The design is comprised of foliage over Celeste blue with an open reserve containing cherubs and laurel wreaths enclosing the royal cipher. Inner wall decorated with a band of gold ivy. This item retains strong paint and minor wear to gold.There are no repairs and no chips.
