Up for your consideration is a set of four hand-made, hand-painted, solid maple wood nesting kitchen canisters with dovetailed corners, recessed lifting knobs, and the hand-painted craftsmanship shows a pheasant in a corn field on one end of each of the four canisters and a sunflower in a field on the opposite end of each of the four canisters. The set dates 1960's and would be considered Mid-century Modern as hand crafted hand-painted pieces like the set of canisters in this listing were prevalent during this time period in interior decorating, design, and home furnishing for the home were often hand-made in factories during this time period.The nesting capability of the four canisters in this listing is a feature and the benefit of storing them when not in use. It looks to me the canisters are a set of traditional ones holding flour, sugar, coffee, and tea. Even though they have no labels on them I believe the set to be for kitchen use for storing food in them.An interesting observation I made when I procured this fine set of kitchen canisters is that if you are a male cook, single, or married the pheasant in the corn field is very masculine.
