The first reproduction candleholder was handmade by blacksmith Thomas G. Loose of Pennsylvania in 1989, although it is unsigned. If you would like the receipt, please let me know. It is hand wrought with a brass "wedding ring" in the center. It has a lever to move the candle up and down and a hook to hold, or hang the candle over a chair. Very beautifully made and in, as bought condition. A little candle residue on top which can be easily removed. About 8" high. The second is called a ladder back candleholder, and was also hand wrought ,by Hurley Patentee Lighting in New York. It also has the hook for hanging, and a lever for moving the candle. It was made to look distressed, as if very old. It is about 9 1/2" high. In as bought condition. I have the receipt for that too. The third one was purchased in an antique store in 1999. It is a pewter chamberstick, and very heavy. It has the finger hold, with the candle snuffer that can be removed. A wonderful piece. There are several markings on the bottom. One says England. Another looks like it could be a W, with an upside down V, and an M, but it's hard to tell for sure. There are other markings and possibly the number 121. I don't know what any of this means, other than it was made in England. In 1989 (1999 for the third piece), I paid $130 for these 3 pieces.
