This pattern is VERY RARE, made by Clementson Bros., Staffordshire, England. This plate measures 7" 5/8" in diameter, there is fine glaze crazing commensurate with age andNO DAMAGE that I can see or feel!English transfer ware is described as ceramics decorated in a technique using a copper plate engraving that was inked and transferred to paper, the paper was than transferred to the ceramic in the bisque state and fired.This technique was perfected from the late 18th century, and hundreds of English companies produced thousands of patterns in table ware. Ralph Stevenson & Sons, Ridgway, Adams, Clews and Spode were perhaps the most prolific makers of English transferware in the 19th century.
