Celebrating the 81st anniversary of the Charles Darrow's "White Box" Monopoly games, this auction is for 1 Set of 28 Darrow White Box 1934 Style Reproduction Monopoly Property Cards made by The Folkopoly Press. Each card measures 4" tall and 2 3/4" wide.These are exact duplicates of the types of property cards found in the second version of the 1934 Darrow White Box. In 1935, Darrow made these cards smaller for his later Black Box Monopoly set.These cards are hand made from thick card stock and should be desirable for anyone who appreciates the early history of the board game Monopoly.As actual early Monopoly items become older and older, more scarce and valuable, they take on the status of "holy relics" that you probably should treat with kid gloves. Naturally, some of the experience of using them to actually play Monopoly is thereby lost.Also lost, over the years, is what I call the "shock of the new." Long gone is the experience of opening up one of these classic game sets and using it for the first time.That's part of what I hope to bring back with these reproduction sets.
