MINT - Marked Sequoia Miller Studio Pottery Shino Teapot - Warren MacKenzie, Shoji Hamada and Bernard Leach influence. Call if you have any questions. I normally would never part with these beautiful representations of warrens and others work, but I am selling these pieces to fund the building my pottery studio. New - Mint Condition. This is a beautiful Sequoia Miller Teapot. The glaze is shino with white block and black line decorations. The Teapot measures 3 x 6 inches wide x 5 1/2 inches in high. Marked with sq. I love his forms and the way he decorates his works. This is an opportunity to own a wonderful authentic piece of Sequoia's work. After nearly fifteen years of full-time potting in the Pacific Northwest, Sequoia Miller's path took an unexpected turn in 2010. Rather than make pots, he decided to investigate persistent questions about the nature of our work as potters. Miller returned to his native New York City to enroll at the Bard Graduate Center, where he earned an MA in Decorative Arts and Design History. At Bard, he used historical approaches, rather than making, to try to uncover how we generate meaning from objects. Miller is now a doctoral student at Yale University, where he continues to explore these questions in an art historical context. At the same time, he remains a potter and maintains a thread of studio practice that attempts to integrate material and intellectual approaches to the world. This is just one piece of my large collection. I will be listing multiple pieces of Sequoia's and Warren's work. I will also be listing work from his students and his contemporaries.
