For your consideration is a four volume set written by some of the leading scientific writers and thinkers of their time, titled: “The Science of Life” . This somewhat scarce set was written by H. G. Wells, Julian S. Huxley and C. P. Wells and published by Doubleday, Doran & Co. of Garden City, in 1931 as a First Edition set (so stated). These books are identically bound in a black cloth with red decorations on the covers and red decorations and titles on the spines. They measure 6 ½ x 9 ½ inches and are sequentially paginated to page 373 in Volume I, 773 in Vol. II, 1146 in Vol. III, and 1524 in Vol. IV. Contents : The Four Volumes are divided into Nine Books each with numerous chapters as follows: Volume I includes Book One —The Living Body; Book Two —The Chief Patterns of Life; Book Three —The Incontrovertible Fact of Evolution which carries on into Volume II and also includes: Book Four —The How and Why of Development and Evolution; Book Five —The History and Adventures of Life which continues into Volume III and also includes: Book Six —The Spectacle of Life; Book Seven —Health and Disease; Book Eight —Behaviour, Feeling and Thought which continues into Volume IV and which also includes: Book Nine —Biology of the Human Race.
