SCIENCE FICTION FANZINE ART CHARLES FERGUSON 1940S ACKERMAN - WEIST COLLECTION!

(JW) Here's a page of original SCIENCE FICTION FANZINE ART by CHARLES FERGUSON JR., titled THE ROCKET''S DESTINATION," probably dating from the 1940s. This art comes from the collection of long-time EC fan, collector and historian JERRY WEIST who bought it out of the garage of FORREST J (no period please) ACKERMAN many years ago. Jerry passed away in January of 2011 and I am selling his EC COMICS, SCIENCE FICTION and COMIC FANZINE collection and MONSTER MAGAZINES on behalf of his estate. CHARLES FERGUSON JR. was a prolific and respected fan artist who contributed a lot of art to science fiction fanzines during the 1940s. We're not sure if this was ever published or not, but it was found in the garage of FORRY ACKERMAN several years ago and purchased by JERRY WEIST. This art is executed with pencil on paper and at some point had restoration work around the outer edges. It was originally folded in thirds to fit into a regular envelope and mailed to someone during the 1940s. It has been flattened and archivally mounted on a sheet of acid-free rice paper. Most of the image area was okay, but a larger piece, missing out of the bottom left corner, measuring 2" x 2 1/2" has been very nicely redrawn and replaced. The image area measures 8" x 10 1/2" in size. Gorgeous piece! If you have any questions about the condition of this item, just contact us and we'll get back to you ASAP.
