She was the daughter of George Carpenter and Mary Elizabeth (Walsh) Carpenter Delaval. She married Thomas Lyon-Bowes, 11th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne on March 25, 1800. They had two children, Thomas George Lyon-Bowes, Lord Glamis, and Mary Isabella Lyon-Bowes. Lady Lyon-Bowes is the 3rd great-grandmother of Queen Elizabeth II.Breaks to tacking edge of canvas; minor surface scratches; minor paint flakes to background at proper right of head; some rubbing and minor chipping to frame.
