This is a one-of-a-kind real photo postcard. Captioned by sender/photographer on the front edges: Northern Phalarope & Bonaparte Gulls "whirling" for food. Photo at Santa Barbara, Calif. by J. H. Bowles. Card is unmailed but he writes and dates on the back: 1916. Dear Laura, It is possible that you may like this picture, as it is the flats between the ocean beach & town. (referring to Santa Barbara). He signed it Jack. Printed on POST CARD photo paper with AZO arrows up stamp box. You can see the town in the background. 3 very visible close up of gulls and others in background water. In excellent condition with a tiny corner crease and slight corner wear. No tears, odor. Mailed with cardboard backing and plastic sleeve.
