Sandwich Glass Early "Moon and Star" Flint Glass Covered Sugar Bowl, Spoon Holder, The Boston and Sandwich Glass Company, Sandwich, Massachusetts, c. 1850-1870. This covered sugar bowl is both attractive and difficult to find. This sugar bowl was manufactured in flint glass in the 1850 - 1870's by The Boston and Sandwich Glass Company. This is a heavy flint glass example with straw marks, bubbles and imperfections. This sugar bowl is listed in "A Guide To Sandwich Glass Pressed Tableware" by Barlow and Kaiser, #1191 where a clear glass example booked for $235 back in 1993. The glass rings when dinged with a finger. This beautiful sugar bowl is offered here with no reserve and a "Buy It Now". DIMENSIONS: The sugar bowl measures 6 5/8" H. (covered), 3 3/4" H. (uncovered), x 4 5/8" Dia. (at the top). CONDITION: The condition is very good with minimal wear.
