Image #4 shows a hanger attached to the back of an item. 10 Hangers + 10 Nails + 10 Wall Mounts Quality brass plate finished to resist tarnish.Prong ends covered with clear vinyl to protect item being hung.Only the 4 prong ends that hook securely around the front edge can be seen. Prong hooks accept an edge about 1/4-inch thick. DIMENSIONS OF BARD'S 8-10" HANGER SIZE: Distance between prongs (at each end) is about 3-inches. Without stretching springs, hanger height is about 6.5 inches. SELECTING CORRECT SIZE BARD'S HANGER Position the item in the direction it is to be hung. Since the hanger fits on the BACK of the item, use FLEXIBLE tape to MEASURE from top front edge ACROSS BACKSIDE to bottom front edge. Compare BACK measurement with hanger dimensions above . When BACK measurement approaches upper limit of a Bard's hanger size, the next larger size is usually a better choice. We do not know of any way to safely lengthen springs.
