Here is a beautiful and early Rookwood Pottery production vase with a faint raised floral design, probably a tulip, and an unusual asymmetrical top. The matte green background glaze is covered around the top half with a curdled brick red which separates to show the green underneath. It measures about 5 3/4 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches in diameter at the widest. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws. Marks include the RP die-stamped mark, XIII for 1913, and shape number 1300. A nice and very unusual piece of Rookwood production art pottery with an art nouveau or arts & crafts design.
